Key Features:
Heavy 8.18 Grain Rifle Profile
While most training pellets are lighter, the 8.18-grain (0.53g) mass of the H&N Sport is optimized for the power levels of modern competition air rifles. This added weight ensures a more stable trajectory and a predictable point of impact, helping shooters refine their hold and follow-through with match-like behavior.
Superior Accuracy for Foundation Building
H&N Sport pellets are designed to bridge the gap between hobbyist plinking and professional match play. They offer tighter groupings and better consistency than standard “Basic” pellets, allowing athletes to accurately analyze their technical progress during intensive training sessions.
Sharp-Edged Wadcutter Design
The classic flat-head (wadcutter) design is meticulously crafted to punch clean, perfectly circular holes in paper targets. This high-contrast marking is essential for clear visual evaluation and precise manual scoring, ensuring you can track every millimeter of your progress.
Trusted German Quality
Even at a training price point, H&N maintains strict quality control. Each tin of 500 pellets is inspected for skirt integrity and shape uniformity, reducing shot-to-shot variance and preventing the “flyers” that can frustrate a developing shooter.
The Ideal Stepping Stone
Positioned just below the elite H&N Finale Match, these pellets provide a professional “feel” and performance. They are the perfect intermediate choice for shooters who are outgrowing basic training ammo but aren’t yet ready for the cost of Olympic-grade match pellets.

Technical Details & Usage Tips
- Rifle vs. Pistol: While compatible with both, the 8.18g weight is specifically beneficial for rifles. For air pistol training, lighter variants like the H&N Econ are often preferred.
- Warm-up Routine: We recommend firing 3–5 warm-up shots into a scrap target before starting your scoring strings. This leads to consistent barrel temperature and lead-fouling levels for better accuracy.
- Handling: Always handle pellets by the skirt with clean, dry hands. To maintain the 4.50mm precision, avoid squeezing the pellets, as even slight deformations can affect flight stability.
- The Competition Path: Once you are consistently shooting high scores in state trials, consider upgrading to H&N Finale Match or QYS Training for national-level precision.
