At its core, the Gehmann 565 features two independent polarization filters. The first polariser helps eliminate glare and control the brightness of white targets, while the second regulates the amount of light entering the eye. Shooters can use either filter individually or combine both for precise light tuning based on weather and range conditions.

The adjustable iris ranges from 0.5mm to 3.0mm, protected by Gehmann’s latest patented design. All internal surfaces are finished in matt black to minimize reflections and optical distortion, ensuring a crisp and distraction-free sight picture.

Additionally, the iris includes six optically flat glass colour filters—orange, light green, yellow, medium grey, dark grey, and amethyst—allowing shooters to enhance contrast and adapt to changing lighting environments. Clear settings at both ends of the adjustment range enable the use of only the iris or only the polarisers, making this system extremely versatile.

The Gehmann 565 also supports advanced customization with a removable steel thread, enabling retro-fitting of the Gehmann 50309 magnifying diopter (-4.5 to +4.5). A locking collar with V-mark positioning and laser-engraved markings ensure repeatable, accurate adjustments—crucial at elite competition levels.
